Accessibility Statement

Windward Management Ltd is committed to making our website usable and accessible to the broadest possible audience. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.

Our Approach & Standards

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria (with some WCAG 2.2 improvements where feasible). These internationally recognised guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

What We’re Doing Well

  • Fully responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes and orientations

  • Clear page structure with correctly ordered headings (H1-H6)

  • Descriptive page titles and meta data to support screen reader navigation

  • Meaningful link text (avoiding “click here”)

  • Forms designed with associated labels, instructions, and error messages

  • ARIA landmarks (e.g., header, nav, main, footer) to aid assistive tech

  • Keyboard navigation support and visible focus indicators

  • Colour used with care; content isn’t conveyed by colour alone

  • Images named and, where implemented, provided with descriptive alt text

  • Consistent navigation patterns and component behaviour across the site

Where We Know We Can Improve

  • Some legacy images and decorative graphics are missing alt attributes

  • Not all PDFs and downloadable documents are fully accessible

  • A small number of older pages may have insufficient colour contrast in parts of the brand palette

  • Some embedded third-party widgets (e.g., booking or voucher integrations) do not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA

  • A few long pages may need additional skip links and/or in-page landmarks for faster keyboard/screen reader navigation

Our Improvement Roadmap

We are actively working on the following:

  1. Alt text coverage: Audit and add appropriate alt text to all essential images; mark decorative images as aria-hidden or empty alt="".

  2. Contrast fixes: Adjust any text/background combinations that fall below AA contrast.

  3. Document accessibility: Replace or remediate PDFs (tag structure, reading order, bookmarks).

  4. Forms & errors: Ensure all inputs have programmatic labels, helpful hints, and accessible error summaries.

  5. Keyboard testing: Regularly test pages to prevent keyboard traps and ensure logical tab order.

  6. Third-party content: Engage with providers for accessible alternatives or add workarounds (e.g., titles, labels, and clear instructions).

  7. Ongoing QA: Include accessibility checks in our content and development workflows (including automated and manual testing).

Compatibility

This site is designed to work with:

  • The latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari)

  • Current screen readers (for example, NVDA and VoiceOver)

  • Devices running current operating systems on desktop, tablet, and mobile

Reasonable performance can be expected in browsers up to two versions old.
